About:
Rabia Orhan is a Master of Social Work student at Rutgers University–New Brunswick with a background in psychology and experience supporting children, adolescents, and families in school-based and behavioral health settings. She currently works in a school-based social work setting, where she provides individual support, social-emotional learning, crisis intervention, and collaborates with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams. Her previous experience includes working as a Behavior Technician, supporting children with autism and developmental differences through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)-based interventions. Rabia is also the founder and editor of Psikosfer / Psychosphere, a psychoeducational magazine and digital platform focused on making mental health information more accessible, compassionate, and understandable.
Approach:
Rabia brings a warm, collaborative, person-centered, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approach to her work. She believes meaningful therapeutic relationships begin by creating an environment where clients feel safe, heard, understood, and respected. She has a particular interest in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. Her professional interests include anxiety, emotional regulation, self-esteem, trauma, interpersonal violence, family dynamics, and life transitions. Under clinical supervision, Rabia supports clients in developing coping skills, increasing emotional awareness, strengthening communication, building resilience, and gaining a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships.
