Biography:
Lucy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of New Jersey since 2008. Originally from Kentucky, Lucy began her working life in the performing arts and then shifted to social work. She has 20 years of experience in the field of mental health and her work has spanned private practice, non-profit mental health, and healthcare settings. Working with individuals, families, and organizations, Lucy has provided direct care to clients as well as supervised interns, and clinical staff, and managed teams in professional settings. Her clinical expertise includes helping clients with depression, anxiety, work-related issues, family, relationship, and parenting issues, life transitions, coping with health challenges, and counseling families of persons with dementia.
Approach:
Lucy believes that each person is an expert on themselves, and her approach focuses on collaborating with clients to establish an understanding of their goals in therapy and developing a path to achieve them. Each treatment plan is tailored to the individual client, based on a thorough assessment of their individual, unique needs. Lucy’s clinical approaches are informed by Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral, and Narrative theories and techniques, always against the backdrop of considering the environment and larger systems that may be impacting the client.
